Points system in BF2142

Can anyone explain how it works? i.e. what actions get the most points etc? trying to get more unlocks but because I'm no good, my points build up rather slowly.....
 
if you want to whore points then medic all the way - you get 2 for a revive IIRC and 1 for someone using a medic bag that you drop. Alternatively, if youre any good as a sniper - go commander and just defedn one point yourself.

As commander you get points everytime your team caps a point and if you win you double your points...
 
Be an engineer on a busy titan map - spam CP's with the Titan Ground Cannon and then repair them when someone shoots it.

Can get no losses that way too, but its very boring! Much prefer to be assault and in the thick of it.
 
Yeah, get on the top of the titan defence. Best way to rack up points when the sheilds go down. You can use the pods to pod up there, just spin the mouse to eith the left or right to get up there. You get +1 for a kill, and after 5 kills you get an extra 10 points for the defense badge (I think its 10 anyway. . . ).
 
Medic has changed now (or will do in 1.4) so it only requires 50% for each point. So medic or support are both good classes.

My personal choice would be Support, Titan, Defence = :D:D:D

Either lie in the vents and mow the enemy down as they fall through or stand in the corridors and nade spam with the others.

1pt for revive I thought.

My advice, be squad leader. Stay alive and place orders where your squad should and will go. Points awarded for them following your orders. Just generally help folks (medic/support) and kill folks :p
Only 1 pt for kill in 2142 (BF2 it was 2pts) so more emphasis on teamwork, squadwork. Lone wolfs get much less points
 
Well I always play in a squad and try to lead it. I'm just sick of playing hard but only being awarded like 35 points or something, I need more unlocks!
 
On a side note:

Does anyone else experience what I would call 'Ghost Shots'?

I.E. when in sniper class, you zoom in on an enemy's head pull the trigger, gun goes off, but nothing happens (most of the time when this happens I get killed whilst rifle reloads). It can't be lag as neither me or the enemy moves (both in prone position) and it's not just me being a poor aim either :p as their head is literally central to my cross hair. the crosshair doesn't flash white as it usually would also.
 
i was at a friends house this afternoon and he showed my 2142 (i play BF2 instead) and he says that if you yourself destroy both 3 core command consoles and the core, you get 1500 points.

The further they are the more the shot will drop down so you need to compensate the distance with a little hight over the target. It isnt as simple as point and shoot.
 
Loads of easy ways to get points, titan destructor (the one where you kill all 4 gun turrets underneath the titan) is one of the nice easy ones, you can get it twice in one round too.

Oh yeah, forgot about all the ribbons and badges. Have a look through the awards part, its amazing what you can get loads of points for.
 
Use G to pick up a dead guys kit

As suggested above, the best way to get points is to be a Squad Leader and get your squad to follow your orders, and you will get 'Squad Leader Success Points', which rackup quite nicely.

A revive is 1 point, but still plenty of reviving to be done, even though it isn't as lucrative as it was in BF2.

The Assault kit is a good place to start - get the Defib and the Voss and you should be able to rack up some decent kills and heal/revive points.

Being Commander is easy way to get Golds too - IF your team wins. Keep the supply crates coming in busy positions. Also, be aware that some servers don't allow fighting commanders, so the suggestion of defending a cap point isn't always going to work for you.

Also, try and get good in the Battle Walker (EU one is better), I can normally keep one alive for an entire round, and can easily rack up 50-0 kill streak.
 
Stat padding is when you sit there at the edge of the map and say, throw 'nades, and get your mate to resupply. He gets the points. Rinse and repeat. I enjoy it when people do it, and my clan mate goes onto the other team and climbs into the heli/gunship/tank . . and then i just talk them in . . . . Hehehehe. Its basically doing anything to get points without playing the game. Same applies to so called Knife and Pistol servers etc.
