From the autumn such migrants will need to accrue the required number of points to enter Britain.

Points will be awarded according to qualifications and salary prospects.

Employers will also be required to show they cannot recruit skilled resident workers.

Sounds like a step in the right direction to me!

How difficult it is for a company to get around this step will be the key...

I assume it will just be a case of whether the employer has applications from residents. If nobody from round the area wanted to work in the factory, and there is immigrants that would love that job, then i have no issue whatsoever with it. Hopefully if these are strict enough, it will only let people in that want to work and will only fill places nobody from england wants.
