Hey, well I loved pokémon as a kid but the problem is I know the first 150/1 really well and would love to get into the rest of the games but I just can't. I enjoy playing efficiently and I like to level up any rpg character well. But It was different when there was 150 I could go through the game working it all out. Now there seems to be several hundreds more ontop of that and I don't see how it's possible to work out what's best without it becoming a researching chore or just plain out right getting someone to tell you the answer, which is not really so fun.

So my question is, how did you get into these games and which ones would you recommend I played? I loved the originals but I have now played them too much and yes I have also played the remakes.

The reason I ask is because I shall be getting the htc desire hd soon and plan to put a gba emulator on it. I'm hoping there may be a DS one as well but i'm not sure.

I feel exactly the same - my interest completely died when Silver and Gold came out, let alone every since.

I have the same worry about wanting to play the new ones, I briefly recall silver/gold and I may have possibly completed them but I know the majority of the red/blue/yellow pokemon.

isn't the best what Pokemon you like?, thats what I've allways gone on, I used to take on the Elite 4 with my Charizard back in the old GB games (was pretty hard aswell :p), also I think the only time we might see a DS emulator for phones is with the Samsung Galaxy S2, also pick up a copy of soul silver, 1 of the best pokemon games around

I am glad I am not alone in my thoughts.

How did you learn the originals? Just do the same again.

As I stated in the OP. It was fine when it was 150 to learn. Not now that it is 450 or what ever they are on now. Are they even into the 500s now?

Oh I agree with you that is also part of the fun. It is why I keep going back to the originals so much. I've seen there is a DS emulator in the very early stages atm but its hard finding something powerful enough to run it. I hoped the desire hd might be enough but perhaps not.

I shall look into soul silver, is it ds or gba?

i don't really have time to watch 2-3 episodes every day :p

You're right actually. Hit the nail on the head. The reason I don't like learning them is because I don't like them like I do the ones I used to watch as a kid, they don't have any personality or charm to me.

It's a real shame because I don't doubt the new pokemon games are far superior to the old ones.

Soul Silver is DS, and that and Heart Gold are both good, I just like Lugia more then Ho-Ho
