Just got the dispatch email, should hopefully be here friday. I own platinum even though i never finished it, i did enjoy it. I never got into collecting them all. But i did like making a awesome team whiping the floor with anything that got in my way:D

I thought you we're not getting a 3DS anymore skippi :D ?

Also, I've never played a Pokemon game before, am I best off starting with this or perhaps getting a previous pokemon for a different format?

Watching gameplay vids of this last night appears to be a cure for cold feet. :p

I guess it'd be pretty stupid to buy the old model just for this considering I've played most of the best DS titles already.

I thought you weren't very impressed with it in the shop though? But then as you said you didn't get the chance to play any proper games on it. Personally I've decided I'm picking up a DSi in a few weeks and then I'm going to get the 3DS in the January sales next year. Having never owned a DS before there's probably lots of games that I need to get through as well, definitely want Chinatown Wars and Resident Evil, as well as Pokemon White and Mario Kart.

It shouldn't really matter, each game has its own seperate story so it'll be easy to pick up and play. Learning all the different types and their strength/weaknesses can be an issue at first (18 different types, plus all possible combinations) and then you get into the deep stuff of IV's and E.V's which even I don't fully understand.

These are supposed to be the best since the original, so I say pick one of them up, it's definitely worth it.

Who's going for what colour & why?

Think I am going to wait a few weeks and see if the price drops as well. Quite new to the DS so I haven't really followed game prices. Do they tend to drop after a few weeks? As PS3 games seem to do that sometimes

Thanks for the tip Creature. So you think I should just get into either Black or White?

Oh and the post above me makes a good question, which one to go for?

I quite fancy a go at a Pokemon game again, haven't played one since Pokemon silver but I didn't play that properly like I played Pokemon gold. I was kind of on the fence about the 3DS but with some of the titles coming for it and with it being backward compatible I can play one of these new pokemon games I'll probably grab one. Are ALL the pokemon available between these 2 games? There must be well over 500 by now.

I've gone for pokemon white so I get the black pokemon. I went for that one because my girlfriend and brother both wanted pokemon black and figured it was stupid if we had 3 copies and all the same pokemon :D

I love these games though, got every legendary from all games on soul silver and had to preorder so I'd not miss out on Victini too.
BTW I have a spare shaymin and mew if anyone has anything they want to trade for them. Of course they're pretty rare though so I'd be selfishly looking for shiny pokemon :p Anyone got any good shiny pokemon? My pride and joy is a pink Kyogre cos I find the thing hilarious. Even if you don't want to trade but have a shiny please let me know as I am just curious.

I'll be getting a 3DS too since I dislike my old phat DS, just not back lit well and I got a 3DS for £179 so that's nice.

Nice, can I ask from where? I managed to snag mine from IWOOT for £167. So far so good (no cancellation emails etc).

Well before I state where I'll just say it was at that price since I knew someone that worked there, so it was morrisons and only that price because of staff discount.

I wish I got in on that £157 (or something like that) price from Tesco's pricing mistake though. Still that was cancelled for most though.

Yea I think that Tesco thing was pulled for most. Doubt we're able to get their deal to stick.

Ive gone for both as I havent brought a Pokemon game in years. Also my 3DS has come down to £120 because of my vouchers so I have some money spare.

No free gifts being given away with this game then?
Example: Order from 'X' and get a free pokemon keyring;
Order from 'Y' get an exclusive in-game Pokemon
