Pokemon X or Y?

Hi guys, with X and Y coming out soon, I was wondering which version people have gone for; X or Y? And the reasons for each?

Although, after reading a bit, I may have to go with Y, as I have the Y chromosome.

Both, 'cos my kids are getting it for Christmas. (so I can steal it, muhuhahahha)

I would buy X for myself though.
 
Yeh I was orignally going to go for X, but I always seem to go for the 'first' one (i.e. I went for Black and Black 2 instead of White or White 2). There is popular opinion online that the 'second' (one on the right) game is always better. But I mainly just prefer the box art for Y.
 
Can I ask a few silly questions please?

What is the difference between x and y is 1 good and the other bad?
Is it an RPG or is it train and animal and fight it against other players animals
Never played a Pokemon game before and thinking bout a new game for the 3 ds so would you recommend it to an RPG fan

My gf is the 3ds guru in out house and ive just got one too so whatever one she wants, ill get the opposite so we can try and get the most out of it!

ive not played one since ruby and sapphire when they launched, they were brilliant

wheres the best place to buy to guarentee launch day arrival? Shopto seems good, id rather go there than game as Game are sending some crappy plastic merchandise with it so it wont go through my letter box i bet meaning id have to collect monday
 
Question : Which has probably been asked loads of time.

For a guy who has only played the 1st gen game (red) am i going to be lost if i buy this?

It's not really that much of an RPG. You can level up your pokemon, but your character doesn't really have stats. But it will have you hooked like an RPG though :)

I would go with Amazon. They normally have free release day delivery and they've never delivered a game late for me.

Probably not. The actual game mechanics themselves haven't changed much. You still run around in long grass to encounter wild Pokemon so you can level up your own. It will just be the graphics, addition of medals etc that will be new to you.
 
Does ShopTo usually get games to you the day before release? Thinking of changing my order to ShopTo from Amazon as I remember being impressed with they're regular delivery service for available games.

They shouldn't get to you before release day as I think that would be illegal (like recently when some people received GTA 5 before release day)

I think the day before is usually alright to most companies as it happens all the time. I just thought with Amazon being in trouble for GTA being released about 3 days early they'd be a lot more careful this time :p.
