Not knowing exact how to play texas poker as to be honest the poker i play is blackjack type and 5 card draw stuff and never used chips or better, just played with hands and no money/chips method.

I think i got the jist of texas but im still a bit confused even after watching some youtube tutorials. Its mainly the rythem of the game etc im confused with and the betting stuff.

Know any good youtube vids of a actual game right from the start to the finish so i can see how it plays?

i use partypoker which is also pretty good, large selection of blinds, tables and the like, plus it has a training table and a play money section.

I play free multi table tournaments a lot. you might wanna check out the website in my sig ( which belongs to my brother). it has some nice tips, and also a list of all the free games on each network, which is updated weekly. theres also passwords for invite rooms, and we also have our own freerolls occassionally. Wikipedia also has some nice wikibooks and stuff in relation to no limit hold'em poker, which I would reccommend.

PKR is great - I love the 3D GUI. All the other sites I've played on use the same boring graphics, but PKR has gone for something a bit different. It looks like a "proper" game as opposed to just an online thing like Party Poker or Poker Room, etc...

Only problem is that sometimes it's too popular and getting on the Free Play tables takes some time. I guess they're a victim of their own success.

UKPoker is very good - loads of proper cash games, but also loads of free rooms. (online only though)

Most online poker rooms have play money games, and a few have totally free freerolls (win real money without entry fees). Its a good way to start, but the big problem is that people play like its a freeroll - all-ins all the time. Also its hard to bluff bad players as they dont lay down their hands.

But you can build up a small amount of cash which you can use to enter proper tournies and cash rooms.

Personally I think PKR is rubbish, but thats because i don't like 3d interfaces as the games tend to take a long time as people prat around getting their avatars to make facial expressions etc.

I've been playing poker No Limit Texas Holdem for a number of years and there are in excess of 50 poker sites out there to play on. 90% of which have play money facilities.

My current favorites are Ladbrokes, Stan James, Full Tilt. All three of these have very large playing communities, e.g. full tilt regularly has over 5,000 players on line at any one time. A lot of companies like Stan James, Dream Poker run off the same software and just have different skins, so the playing base behind them is the same no matter which one you use.

One point to make, If your winning on play money that is very unlikely to transfer over into the real money world as most people don't play that seriously unless they have put their money on the table.

If your interested in Poker you might want to take a read of Poker PLayer magazine to start with then if you get really interest Super Systems 2 is regarded as the bible of poker, while Harrington on Holdem series is also seen as about the best training for tournament poker.

Good luck if where ever you end up playing and maybe I'll see you on the tables, my tag is Supertaff
