Poland trip advice

Seriously though WTH is in the water in E. Europe? Every gal outta there is smokin'

Well I just got back & I can say 99% of them are (that I saw anyway)

Other than that I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the place. It was cheap compared with other places I've been to in Europe, the food was good & generally the people there were friendly. Only fault was the flight there and back  but I expected it to be lot longer (95 minutes there and just under 2 hours back.)

There is a quick train which runs betweenn gdansk and sopot, lots to see around gdansk and sopot is nice too, don't bother with Gydinia as its a bit of a hole...

. In general as they have good tourism there things are slightly more expensive then the rest of Poland. When I go to Poland we usually take £ and convert to zl when were ther, on our debit card with HSBC advance we were getting 4.8 zl/£ the kantors were giving us 5.05zl/zl.

When I visited that area we stayed on the edge of park Olivia, the area around the pier in sopot is nice with lots of restaurants. When I was in krakow last week a 0.5l of a reasonable lager was 5zl and a nicer one around 6.5-7zl. Plenty of nice polish restaurants so don't bother with McDonald's or KFC etc when your out there....plenty of new things to try

Lots of interesting places in Gdansk to visit, and interesting history.

If you are planning to travel away from the area the transport is very slow, the train from my fiances home town to krakow averaged 30mph the whole way, and buses aren't any better, but they are cheap v.cheap I.e 460km journey cost 64zl, I.e 12.80
