If the police were to either break down your door for a warrant which turned up nowt or if they fear (odd noises) for your safety and it was a dog making weird noises would they have to pay to repair the door?

Always wondered!

I think they do have to pay for the repairs.

It varies... if it's a warrent/welfare entry then yes.

Other circumstances such as domestics can be fronted on the houses owner... the councils are especially good at doing this.

Normally if they need entry and no ones there or you're arrested they call an emergency boarder to secure your property untill a glazier can do the glass or someone to replace the door.

My last place of work actually managed TVPs Emergency Boarding scheme/Vehicle removal.. never seen a property i've actually done though lol..

^ Haha, something like that happened on the American show Cops too. This guy was hammering on this old lady's door shouting "Mam, your house is on fire, quick!" and it turns out it was the one down the street.
