I don't eat bananas often, mostly because I'm a 7 guy, and they never get to that stage in the Cheesy household . Wife and kids are more 4 or 5

Occasionally, I'll buy a few at work, and leave them in my desk drawer to ripen for a week.

Seems scientifically obvious to me that they should be eaten when fully ripe. That's why they keep getting sweeter. All you 1-5s are spitting in the face of Mother Nature

that's crazy, that's the best bit

absolutely despise a hard yellow banana let alone a green one, i don't even think you cant digest a green one properly

7 looks just about ripe

Dislike bananas to the point of I actually heave if the wife eats one near me, I made her lean out of the car window with one once because I couldn't stop gipping while driving.

Around 5/6 for me. I eat at least 1 banana a day. Quite honestly, its the food I miss most if I can't have one!!!

7 is pretty much the earliest I'll eat a banana. Unless it's bruised, the flesh doesn't blacken until it's practically alcoholic. The longer you leave them the sweeter they are.

Is there any evidence for bananas relieving stress? I was always told to eat a banana before an exam and it's "worked".

Funny fact that will send you bananas.

A banana is a berry yet raspberries are not. :D

Temperature storage is a main factor with bananas, too cold they go black, too hot and they turn to mush.

When I was young and my mum was skint on a school day trip out she would make me a banana butty, by the time I got to eat for lunch it was black slop in a sandwich. :p

Am not a banana man myself but I would go with 6.

Quick edit and quote.

"The definition includes many fruits that are not commonly known as berries, such as grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, bananas, and chili peppers. Fruits excluded by the botanical definition include strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, which are aggregate fruits; and mulberries, which are multiple fruits."
