POLL: Will you be moving from Haswell to Skylake?

Can I have a:

Maybe

Happy with my X5650 + 7970 combo, until something massive comes out next that will demand more (HL3, or similar) I may as well stay put.

I wanted to upgrade a few months ago, but my rig still holds up quite well. Runs GTA5 at high settings at 60fps.

done:)

I'm about to purchase the 5930k, is it worth holding off for a month or two?

I dunno ...I sold my x99 combo and 5930k as apart from encoding and rendering I noticed nothing in the stuff I do...

I'm now on a 4690k @ 4.2ghz 16gb ddr3 combo which cost me £190

DDR 4 when I benched offered nothing tbh...

I'm interested in cheap but spunky performance....it's more fun...:p

I've had top end stuff and it's just boring and expensive....when I can have the same performance in games for a 1/4 of the price it's more fun...

Plus dx 12 scales badly on anything above 4 cores

Unless you are rendering etc...it's pretty pointless...

DDR 4 sounds cool...but the the latency currently means dilly squat against tight DDR 3

I'm now rocking a B85 chipset and a 4690k clocked to 4.2ghz...

The mobo was 25 quid and the chip 95...

Downgraded from a x99 and 5930k....

Never looked back...I don't feel I've been ripped off running this budget setup...in fact I'm enjoying it more tbh...playing Farcry 4 today was no different than on the 800 quid mobo x99 combo...

And that's the truth.:D

I doubt I'll go to skylake if I'm honest...it's amazing what level of performance can be had for literally peanuts these days.
