Hi Guys,

This is probably one for all the American car guys on the forum, Im looking to find a faily decent 1982 - 1986 Pontiac Firebird for a "Project" :D

I've not seen many on the bay or elsewhere online for a matter of fact, any suggestions of places to look, or magazines to buy that specialise in American cars?

Thanks.

Stu

All in America, I must have seen 4 or 5 in Florida alone lol.. Shoulda taken a photo or two, but I didnt take my phone charger, so I couldnt take photos with such a low battery... yay

Ok, thats a good idea, im looking to spend about £2k on one...hope to get a fairly decent one for that but to be honest, the paint work etc is not of any real concern as it will all be changed anyway with that I've got in mind :D

2k should get you something ok if you buy when the market is slow. Remember that the camaro is pretty much the same.

Also, Why no later than 86?, the 3rd gen ran from 82-91 iirc. Generally, the later you go, the more power that V8 has...

Keep watching the bay, some will show up eventually.

Usually a few on the 'bay, too :)

Just go Cars, Parts & Vehicles > search by "Pontiac" and put the price limit between 200 to say, 3000 pounds. This'll reveal all the stuff that's mislisted as well.

Or you can just go Classic Cars > American

As mentioned - Custom Car, American Car World, Classic American, Autotrader (usually around page 160, in Classics & American) - just browse the car section in Smiths.

Why are you being so coy about your blatent plans to build a KITT replica ;)
 You know my well kept secret plan!!!!

Yeah, I've been looking at a few forums about the whole KITT replica process and I've decided I'm going to do one.

Its going to cost a little but it gives me something to focus my attention on instead of sitting on the net wasting hours, aimlessly achieveing nothing other than a bit of email and sypware from here and there ;)

Already found LOADS of info about where to source parts from so the hunt for the donor car has begun :D

Probably sitting in lots of garages and back gardens, probably in 67 pieces while their owners are trying to make a KITT replica and failing miserably.

;)
Yeah you are probably right but the time has come for me to do something else other than trawl the internet and play games....I need a major project other than work of course to focus my attentions on and this is it :D
