Poor 1080ti performance

Hi guys,

I've just built a new machine with the intention of handling 4k gaming. I'm yet to get a 4k monitor but I have so far run some basic benchmarks at 1920x1080 with Battlefield 4.

With all settings set to Ultra and 4x AA (motion blur and AA post filtering turned off) I am only getting between 88 - 100fps max (reading done with Geforce Experience FPS overlay)

This is pretty poor considering reviews show 1080ti producing around 140fps under these settings and it certainly doesn't look good for 4k!

So far i've checked the following:
- temps are fine with CPU around 45C under load
- both power connectors have been connected to the GPU
- I'm using a PCI-E 3.0 slot 1 on the motherboard
- No overclocks in place
- I've installed the latest drivers

Here is my new system configuration:
- MSI Nvidia GTX 1080Ti Founders Edition 11GB GDDR5X Graphics Card
- Intel Core I7-7700K 4.20 GHz Socket 1151 8MB Cache
- Asus Intel ROG MAXIMUS IX CODE LGA 1151 ATX Motherboard
- Corsair Dominator Platinum Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Memory Kit
- Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
- Corsair AXi 860W Fully Modular 80+ Platinum Power Supply
- Corsair Sp120 Rgb Fan - With Controller
- 850Evo Pro SSD
- Windows 10

Is there any reason why I'm getting such poor results compared to the reviews?

Ok thanks, I'm at work right now but i'll try both those things when i get home. I did have a little trouble installing the card into the slot. Really stupid question but if the card is slightly out of the slot would it still work but under reduced performance ?

It wouldn't work or you would have system issues.

Your Firestrike score looks to be on par with a couple of 1080Ti results in this thread :

Those BF4 results look way too low though.

Oops it was resolution scaling. Now hitting 180fps

That's your issue, you are almost running at 4k resolution, not 1080p

Hey,

I owned an Acer 4k Gsync monitor (60hz) - i can tell you that a 1080 Ti will struggle to run future games at 4k but it will defo run most games released recently @ 60fps without AA. You've got a **** hot system there, slightly jealous ! Enjoy.

Just be thankful that Crysis 4 ain't out yet.

haha I only play BF4 and R6 Siege anyway But yea Crysis 4 would probably require 1080ti SLI, shame SLI doesn't scale well on these new cards tho

Have not played BF4 in a very long time, does it run well on the ti?

Runs very well! I was getting 140fps in multiplayer with Ultra settings 1920x1080. Just need to remember to turn resolution scaling down to 100%, but even at 200% it was doing 80+
