Hey Guys,
As the title says really, I have 2 7970s and in games like Metro last light I am getting 40% usage on each card on max settings with an i7 2600k at 4.4ghz. I have tried different rad pro settings but nothing is making a difference. Any ideas and would getting a Haswell setup improve this in any way? If I cannot sort it then I may just sell them and get a 780.

I should add as well that I likes me some Starcraft and crossfire is the same in that as well as COH2 which dosnt support it at all. I kind of feel like I am being pushed towards that single card solution even though I love my cards. Sorry if there is delay replying as I am on night shift.

Not sure how demanding starcraft is but if vsync is on then i seriously doubt a single 7970 would stretch its legs on starcraft.

Have you tried a more demanding game such as battlefield, crysis and the like? maybe run a benchmark and see what happends then?

Metro LL, can't test as I've been in Italia for a while and won't be back for a few more weeks yet.:D

pgi was doing some tests iirc, give him a shout?

SCII performs better on Nvidia, COH2 if these tests are 'true':

Then according to those results, the 780 isn't any better than the 7970 GE(in the real world ofc), give it a little time and AMD will have a proper profile no doubt as they are definitely on a push atm.

MLL either has an engine issue or driver issue or both when it comes to usage, I couldn't get them to consistently sit above 80% usage per card which gave a rather poor ~43fps avg, essentially missing out on 40% worth of performance that would have sat it above a 60 frame avg.

It was made for 1 card only red or green. They even released a statement saying sorry but no. Starcraft with vsync off and 1 card is 99% and 40 fps sometimes even lower. Its more demanding than u would think maxed out but its very cpu dependant.

I see. I can get 99% on Crysis 3 but I dont play BF3 and to be honest have no intention of playing either of those games again. I have 2 Gigabyte WF cards and neither clock above 1050mhz either so I do feel I would get better value with a 780 in the 2 games I will play most.
