Poor manufacturing on MSI RTX 4090

Worrying for owners of that card, but does anyone else find the whole story a bit sus?

Supposedly the card was in a pre-built that didn't work on arrival - why would you send the card off to be privately fixed instead of just returning it? NorthWestRepair states in the comments that he thinks the owner got a refund but who's going to give a refund without the 4090 being returned to them?

Sounds to me like the card was nicked and likely an RMA.

he does repair a lot of cards that have suffered physical damage from the pc being moved about, the board flexes and pads under the core are wrecked. also those pesky pcie latches sometimes cause damage to the notch on the gfx card and that needs to be repaired.

also memory seems to die often.

strange those pads where oxidised i would have thought msi would have done a burn in test before they shipped it. ive had a couple of msi gfx cards and they been fine :)
