Poor O2 service

I live in Beccles Suffolk and O2 have taken down the main aerial/transmitter in our area & put up a low powered temporary 1 and have no idea whens it's going to be replaced "Hopefully this year" was the reply. This means my wife (02) and me (Tesco) can't use our mobiles in 50% of our town and not at all in doors. Now the questions -1) what's T-Mobile like? we are PAYG and use a lot of text & they have a cheap text based tarrif. 2) fancy the Motorola V3 black for me pink for her - any good? Hardly use phones for anything else, but must be tri/quadband & clamshell design as we travell a lot. Thanks
