If you've been updated and find the browser feels laggy/scrolling is choppy and everything generally feels like it's running on a Pentium III then:

In your address bar go to chrome://flags/

Set 'GPU compositing on all pages' to disabled. This should fix the terrible video/scrolling/lag/performance on the latest release build.

Nah, the issue I flagged up only started today. Someone has messed up the GPU acceleration code just before release. It specifically affects video. ie scrolling, drawing pages and so on. Yesterday Chrome was fine; after todays update it was laggy as hell.

The fix I mentioned returns performance to normal. At least it does on W7/Nvidia.

The compositor seems to be fixed in 30.0.1599.69m (the first update build after the Chrome 30 release). You should be able to set your flags back to default without issue once your browser gets updated.
