poor performance

not sure if this is the correct place to post but here goes.

i bought dead island game of the year edition this morning and trying to play through steam. on the lowest of the low 1080p settings WITH vsync on the game is completely umnplayable. i can go from 350fps then turn round and it will drop it 6 or 7 fps then bounce back upto between 180 - 350 fps making the game juttery as heck and completely unplayable.

is there anywhere i can solve this at all as i dont believe that my hardware is limiting me in this game. spec is as follows

amd fx 8350
2 x hd 7950 ( please note i have disables a card in ccc and phsically removed both cards on seperate occasions )
8 gb g skill ripjaws x
xfx 750w psu

also every other game i play runs pretty much flawlessly bar this omne

Your spec is more than good enough, my fave game ever! Heres how to fix it, go into your graphics settings turn off vsync back out then go back in and turn it back on again

Stupid bug in the game the devs couldnt bother there arse to fix

right managed to get vsync on which has resulted in even worse performance i now only get between 48-58 fps, everytime i turn around in the hotel it drops to approx 12-17 fps. now without being funny here i feel like a right tit after my boyfriend convinced me to spend a fortune on a pc to play new games on i cant even run a game thats a couple of years old. he thinks am mad for wanting to get rid of and go back to an xbox 360 lol
