I currently have the following

Z87x-oc mobo
I7 4770k
Sli gtx 770 gainwards
8gb team group vulcan 2400mhz ram

Comparing that to my sons

990fx mobo
Fx 8350
16gb gskill ripjaws ram
Gigabyte Hd 7970

Then playing my own xbox1 and my sons ps4. All games running 1080p when possible and vsync on then why is it impossible to tell the dif between my own system, my sons and the 2 next gen consoles.

I don't know what sort of dif msaa etc makes to games etc etc and being new to pc gaming and the cash outlay I must admit I'm very disappointed in the return for my cash.

Incidentally I have a friend who has a 3770k and an nvidia titan who is over the moon with the performance of his pc compared to consoles and reckons I'm being harsh as my sli setup probs has more grunt than his titan but tbh I can't see it.

Am I in the small minority who expect far too much from pc gaming

Yeah I know that and will be investing in 3 monitors over next couple o weeks but that doesn't alter the fact that I'm pretty unimpressed overall with the performance and gfx quality even on ultra compared to the next gen consoles even more so considering the cost vs next gen consoles

Next gen consoles are struggling to run games at 1080 lol

If that's the case then I'm even less impressed with the so called superiour gaming power of pcs then as tbh I can't tell the dif between any of the 4 options I listed when the same games are running. In fact when my own pc and the ps4 was running my gf, my 2 sons and my best mate and his son all chose the ps4 as having the better gfx when compared side to side kinda says it all to me.

That's what I was wondering if I had everythin set up properly? Don't get me wrong from start butting being pressed to being able to browse the internet takes about 15 seconds which is massively quick compared to my old acer laptop its just the gaming, or should I say actual gfx, I'm not overly impressed with. 100+fps doesn't mean anythin to me on a 60hz monitor either tbh

I didn't see the point of the 120 monitors, most of they games I would only ever play single player anyways. What I'm really looking forward to is playing racing sims over 3 monitors which I'm pretty sure can't be done on a console

I'm currently playing the pc on my 51“ hdtv inot sure exactly what the problem is but I think I was possibly expecting too much from pc gaming over the new consoles.

I don't have any slowdown etc in games at all and when I use fraps most games give me 80-90+ fps minimum.

I will wait till next week when I get the 1st of my new monitors and see if I notice a dif at all in quality of images on screen. If not be bye bye pc gaming and stick to the xbox1 methinks
