Hi all,
Recently built a new C2D system including: E6300; DS3; X1900XT; G.Skill 6400 HZ. Started clocking the other night and bumped the FSB up to 450mhz, VDIMM +0.5v (2.3v), locked PCIe frequency, etc, and set the RAM Timings to 4 4 4 12 [others auto]. I loaded up 3D Mark 2k1 and it crashed to the desktop within 10 seconds. SP2004 with a RAM stress test fails within 1-2 seconds
. So I slackened the timings to 5 5 5 15, and still no luck. I set the RAM timings to auto, and it boots up at 5 6 6 18 and is stable with these timings. Now, I'd really like to have 4 4 4 12 or atleast 5 5 5 15 AND still have room for more mhz, as I'm sure this CPU can do more than 3.15ghz! Any thoughts or adivce? BIOS is F4E btw. I've basically done everything in the BIOS that is recommended in the DS3 owners thread.
EDIT: S/N on RAM starts: 63209401xxxxxx - I've read that S/N starting 0605>are D9 chips..
Cheers.
