Poor Video Playback

Hello

For some reason playback of standard definition films is really bad on my computer. The video is very choppy and just overall poor quality. HD videos are fine.

I've tried playing the same videos on my ps3 and they playback perfect. I've also tried a few different codecs to see if that helps but no joy.

I would have thought that a SD film would be like water for a 6950? Spec of rig below

Any ideas? :)

This does sound like an issue with the video player, I would suggest trying a re-install of VLC. Also, I would suggest trying out the excellent MPC-HC and see how you find it.

Fresh install of VLC seems to have done the trick for now! :)

Media player classic is a great player, actually prefer it to VLC. I just like the fact VLC comes with all the codecs

So does MPC-HC pretty much out the box, it just wont use them unless you tell it to :)

Grab the latest SVN, go into its options and make sure it's set to use for all audio/video and theres very little it wont play out the box.
