Poor WOW performance

i am currently running amd Phenom 9600 on a Gigabyte Ga m750sli ds4 with 4 gig ram and a 9600gt on XP 32bit.
i am thinking of upgrading as i build the maching for gaming WOW and am getting very low performance.
I have tried 2 nvidia 9600gt but am running 1 at the moment due to the step down to X8 on sli.
Tried all sorts and no joy any ideas - even reinstalling XP.
Frame rate drops below 10 when everybody else are getting 40+

running at 1600x1200 which is native to the monitor @60hz.
performance is pretty bad all the time and especially in raids / dalaran.
people with lower spec machines are getting a better frame rate which is annoying.

Anybody know if there is a problem with the MB and AMD Phenom - have thought about changing the board but a bit concerned it won't make any difference.
