Hello,

Basically the central locking has stopped working on my Toyota Yaris. Light comes on on the key but nothing happens with the car. Still unlocks fine if i stick the key in the door.

Im going to be ferrying old peoples about tommorrow so it;s not likely to conk out on the motorway due to an electrical fault or anything is it?

Car is only 6 months old!

boooooooooooooooooo!

I doubt it'll be a disaster. My 206 used to do this IIRC, was just the cold. Warmed up it would work again. Then again that was French and an absolute POS!

Odd on a car so new, sometimes a car can get out of sync with the key, I don't know why but it just happens once in a blue moon. I have had this happen on a 3 series once and never again with any other car.

If it is this (that the keys are out of sync) to resolve it you need to go through a reset procedure similar to how you program a new key, on the 3 series it was simple but a quick search with Google turned this up.

Will cost nothing to try but you may get some looks from the neighbors opening and closing the doors.

Failing that it could just be the cold, either way it is under a year so you should have warranty cover and this often includes a level of breakdown cover.

just looked under the car at the front and underneath the bonnet a plastic panel has been come loose at one end and has been dragging along the floor

any ideas what this is?

Probably just the lower panel most cars have these days under the engine bay. Might have some aerodynamic benefit of some sort but nothing you'd notice. If you can't re-affix it, remove it for the time being. Don't want it getting jammed anywhere over the holidays. You may have had some lumps of ice or snow work it loose.
