This is the noise my Corsair HX650 just made mid-game. Pretty sure it's dead, there is some suspicious dust that came from it's fan that wasn't there yesterday.
I don't have anything that can work as a paperclip handy to do the paperclip test but the motherboard isn't even lighting up (it always does on standby) so it's pretty obvious that it's a gonner. Also, the psu was braided so no chance of an RMA.
I don't have another PSU handy to plug in but what do you guys reckon - do you think the corsair took one for the team and my hardware is okay? Or is that overly hopeful
I didn't smell any smoke or see any damage to any other parts of the system so maybe there is a chance?
