Popcorn hour hard drive question

I have a hardrive full of films and tv series, if I remove this sata drive from my pc and put it inside the popcorn hour will the drive need to be formatted or will popcorn hour simply find all the media on the drive?

Pretty sure you need a fresh format once it goes into the Popcorn (I did with mine) as it needs to be in the Ext2/3 structure (Linux-based I gather)

You could put the drive into a USB caddy and get another one for inside the popcorn

That way you won`t have to move all the files someplace else while you format the drive in the popcorn and transfer them back(takes ages via the network

)

second that - the transfer rates are painfully slow into the popcorn hour 4-5Mb/s at best - takes a while to fill a Tb hdd
