Netflix and iTunes streams are not a valid comparison (Netflix etc will demolish the quality to get a good stream which works on an average broadband line @4mb if that)

I have about 500 BR rips on my server and they average about 30GB with hi def audio and no compression or previews

don't get me wrong its still a massive increase but hopefully with newer compression programs valid with 4k it may not end up that bad when 4k matures

Comparing blur ray to iTunes stream? Morons...

Typical 1080p bluray movie is about 20-25gb.

Four times this yes, is 80-100gb... However they clearly don't take into account current compression algorithms and the newer ones that are more likely to be used... Let alone iTunes and Netflix encoding. There is no reason using the same encoding that the films should be more than 4 times that size for streaming quality.

So I would expect 50-100gb on bluray and 15-25gb stream
