Popping noise from speakers

Hi everyone

I've started getting a popping from my Ruark mr1 mk2 speakers under low frequency noise (only from the right speaker so far). Last night it was happening in Arctic Monkeys' Old Yellow Bricks and Emiliana Torrini's Speed of Dark (in exactly the same place in the track each time). I've also noticed occasionally it in games and in movies (again, repeatable).

The speakers are connected to my dac by a phono to 3.5mm cable. The DAC is connected to my pc via USB and to an Xbox One S via optical. The pc, DAC and speakers are all connected to a Masterplug surge protector. So far I've tried changing the interconnect from the DAC, trying different usb and optical cables, and testing with different sources.

Given that it happens with different sources and multiple DACs, I'm reasonably confident that it's the speakers. I contacted Ruark, who asked for a recording, but when I tried them this morning, I couldn't recreate the pop in either track.

Has anyone got any bright ideas? From memory,
I've only heard the pop at night - world it make sense that it only happens when the system had been running for longer a while?

I never did get to the bottom of it. Ruark told me to get in touch if it happened again, but it's not repeated.

It could have been moisture - I only use a dry cloth to clean them now. Equally I've moved over to a JDS Labs dac and amp, which could be a factor.

Also check the power adapters - mine had a break from a cable tie so they're not great if you're ocd with your cable management.
