I must say I love this little thing, but one thing is very very annoying; when ever there is a sudden sound and when its not been playing any audio for a fraction of a second, it sounds like ther is a power spike and it makes a very loud poping sound through the speakers.

I bought it as an upgrade to an old creative soundblaster audigy, which made absolutely no popping at all. I notice it most when going through vista and clicking on folders etc, as you only hear a loud pop.

Its in a PCI-x slot, and has the floppy drive connector, however when in a pci-e slot it made no difference. The rest of the spec below

are you using analogue or digital (DDLive or dts, doesnt happen with PCM at all as far as i know)

there are issues with various cards where they seem to stop sending a DD/DTS signal if nothings going on. it only seems to happen with the odd card and speaker/amp set up, and nobody really knows what causes it or how to fix it. thats a bit vague i know :/ it did that to me once on a x-mystique, but the problem suddenly vanished one day. very odd.

if its analogue, it should be doing that at all.

If I remember correctly, I did read something a while ago, that (in XP) muting "Line in" in the Play Control panel can help improve playback quality....

Appear to have fixed it, was using analogue, but the sample rate was set at 192KHz, setting it down seems to have sorted it. Thanks for the responce
