Popular Racing Games?

Is there any racing game that a lot of people actually play online?
I have dirt showdown and it takes me ages to find a full lobby, its like a deserted game, I no theres another thread like that but i wanted my own so people could answer my question if there is an actual popular online racing game that is fun to play

There are newer racing games up and coming, Grid 2 is soon to be released, Project Cars, there is race room on Steam, but the real racers for PC are i racing and if you've not got a wheel then you'd maybe struggle to keep up..

F1 2012 is still quite active, its good with a control pad
Shift 2 has or had an active online
Grid online was turned off recently

dirt 3 is a decent one, also dirt showdown, im not much of a fan of showdown though
