HI all.

Ive been a fan of Blackfield for a while now, but ive never ventured into listening to Porcupine tree. Just wondering if anyone can give me advice into what albums i should get hold of.

If theres any Blackfield fans out there that havn't bought the new album yet, i seriously recomend it! Beautiful songs.

Thanks!

Huge Porcupine Tree fan here :)

In Absentia is thought of as their best I think, it's definately my favourite. It has a good mix of heavy songs and the usual spaced out PT sound.

Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun are probably most similar to the Blackfield sound.

Deadwing is also awesome.

If you fancy some more experimental stuff then look into Signify (still a very good album to listen to), Voyage 34 and The Sky Moves Sideways are also very experimental but I'm sure by this time you'll be hooked :D

And don't forget they have an new album coming out which sounds amazing head over to their myspaz page (myspace.com/porcupinetree) to listen to the teaser.

Thanks, just the kind of advice i was looking for. :)

Looks like a buying session for me in these early hours. Ive also just bought Flowermouth by No-Man.

Im really looking forward to listening to these, i love the Blackfield sound, and i can see this kind of music becoming one of my favourites!
