Pork Scratchings!!

I sometimes make my own if I am having a joint of pork. They are quite possibly the king of pub snacks.

Another vote here for Mr Porky's though. Our local did have the ones in a big clear plastic bag with a white sticker on that were HUGE pieces of crackling but you looked like a bit of a savage chomping on them in the corner.

To my disgust, they now sell a 'ploughmans' lunch in a bag. Gotta be gross that surely?

They are not nice, they remind me of those little candy burgers you could buy at the pick n mix

My local does really nice ones, in a clear plastic bag with white writing on them. I can't rememeber the name though, but i'm off there in about an hour for their real ale festival. I'll try to remember what they were when i get back.

Pork Scratchings are bloody awesome.

However, I can only indulge if I know I won't see Law for at least 6 hours afterwards :(

Or she kills me.

:(

This just brings up the age old debate

which are best:

Pork Scratchings from a proper butcher >*

A petrol station near me always has a basket on the counter with loads of clear plastic bags filled with scratchings from a local butcher, mmmmmm

How strange that this post is on the front page, just as I finish a bag. Great hangover material :D

I liked the smaller crunchy ones when I was into them, dont touch them anymore though. Scampi fries maybe ;)

My mate. Great British Beer Festival 2005. Proper scratchings. :)

It's brilliant, and this year it's on from the 1st to the 5th of August. I believe that the location is being changed though and that it's being held at Earl's Court instead of the London Olympia. If you go, check out Moondance from the Triple FFF brewery, it's my local.

Damn right, there looks a good mix in that bag of ones that are crunchy, ones with an inch of soft fat attached and the traditional huge mother that will make your mouth ache and bleed
