Porsche Taycans...

As said i’ve a few friends with them and all complain about the money printing service regime.

Well we washed it and checked the tyres and did some updates so that is 20 million please and if you don’t have it serviced, no warranty.

Given their rabid depreciation I suspect Porsche are rinsing the absolute ******** out of after-sales to try and recover some of their investment.

Does make you wonder though, maybe I should start an EV maintenance company, even at half those prices I could probably afford one myself after a few weeks.

I guess you just have to factor it in to the TCO. Probably another part of why the used prices are so low.
I'd love one, its one of the few electric cars I'd consider buying.

Is nitrogen in tyres still a thing? I remember seeing all the little green valve caps on tyres years ago to indicate that they were filled with nitrogen, but don't seem to see them anymore.

It's almost like the 'normal' air had a large amount of nitrogen in anyway  . Big rip off for most cars imo.

Still used in racing and for hypercars and I guess if you are a big fan, possible for your quickish vehicle.

Years ago (mid 2000s-ish) it was a massive thing in Holland, where I lived at the time. Every German car had the little green valve caps, it was almost a status thing. Dealers were charging a few hundred euros for a few pence in gas and laughing all the way to the bank, it was absolute marketing genius. Not seen the green caps for a while though, although I haven't really been looking.

Green caps around our way used to be fitted after the five-o did a random tyre check on your car. That was eons ago, back when we had so many Police and so little crime they had to find things to fill their time :p

Does make you wonder if some unscrupulous dealers just put a green cap on and charged for it anyway, not like you can easily tell.
