Hello,

I have got a NetGear wrg614 v6 and my Xbox 360 connected together with rj45 cable.

I need to open theres ports on the router for the xbox360, 88 & 3074

So i opened them for the IP the 360 is connected with which is 192.168.1.2

Now though the IP had changed to 192.168.1.3 and my computer is 192.168.1.2.

How can i get the 360 to stay on IP 192.168.1.3 so the correct ports are open
?

Thanks Ben

That's not what he is asking but it's a useful guide and will save me some explanation to some of my friends :)

If your Netgear router is anything like the ADSL ones I've used before, you'll have an option to assign an IP to a MAC address so that the device always gets handed out the same IP.

Go to "LAN IP Setup" and then under "Address Reservation", click Add. It should bring up a table of devices on your network so you can click one and it'll fill the details in for you. Change the IP address if needed and then add it. Otherwise, you can manually enter the 360's MAC address and the IP address you want.

That should take care of it.

Search a bit and you'll find out how to use a fixed IP address on your Xbox360.
Both Google and the link I posted will help achieve this.
