Port forwarding on HH3 - argh

Hey all,

Trying to get plex media server working on my PC for while I work away and I have set up 32400 port on my Home hub 3 and even turned the firewall off, but the port just wont open.

Help.

Can you access the server on the local network from a different machine?

Post a screenshot of the port forwarding config.

Hiya Kia. It's a friends router. He doesn't have any other computers to try it on but his laptop and phone. He's going to check on Monday.

The port forwarding is :
Any protocol from - 32400; to 32400
Target from - 32400; to 32400

That's all there is too it. I'm on sky so I can't explain any better.

I'm using port checker tool and no ports are being forwarded. Trying turning the security totally off. Still not working. Looked online and apparently the home hub 3s have a major problem with port forwarding. Guessing they haven't sorted it for the 4 .(

Is the port definitely open with something listening on the machine itself?

That's the issue. The port is open on the router settings wise. Although port checkers are saying its closed. Apparently a issue on the home hubs.

Just on this, I received a hub4 last night (upgraded from hub3) and I've got various forwards for VPNs and http etc, no problems on either platform, everything's working ok.

Once you've set the port range up, you have to bind it to a destination host. I can grab some screenies later if you want?
