Years ago i tried using torrents and so i forwarded the necessary port in my router (Linksys WRT54G) without any problems.

I've just downloaded uTorrent and for some reason i cant get my router to forward the port properly.

The port i've set in uTorrent is 47487 but it always returns and error saying the port is not open.

Am i missing something here?

Are you 100% sure the local IP is set to 100? (May be using wireless and Lan? so different IP)

Does it have single port forwarding, instead of using range..

Make sure you're clicking Save on the page

Try 55555

Yeah my IP is definitely 100 and I clicked save. It only has port range rather than single but i had no problems when i did it ages ago.

I update the firmware a few weeks ago which is the only thing i can think of that would screw things up.

you got the same port entered twice, is that necessary? some routers dont like this too much

I changed it but it didnt make any difference.

I installed Tomato firmware - SSH Daemon and Telnet Daemon are enabled by default. Should they be? Doesn't telnet allow people to connect your PC?

made sure randomize port is unchecked in utorrent preferences/connection ?

Do this

If you upgraded from another firmware, a complete reset is recommended. Go to Administration/Configuration and select "Erase all NVRAM..." after installing Tomato.

Now go to Static DHCP, enter your mac address for your NIC and set an IP address for it, on the machine itself, set it to automatically get an IP (it will always get that IP you've set in the router)

Now setup the port forward :)
