port forwarding through two routers?

Is the second router just acting as a switch, ie just using the ethernet ports on the back rather than the WAN port? If so you should only need to open ports on the router that's connected to the internet - it's the only router in the network.

And if it isn't, then it should be - unless you have a very decent reason to be running NAT twice.
