Hi there,

My router broke recently so i have switched to a modem untill i can be bothered to get another router.

The problem now is that i get slow downloads in uTorrent and it's telling me its something to do with the port forwarding. On my software firewall i have it so that its allowing all ports for utorrent and i still get the exclamation mark in the bottom of uTorrent and port forwarding errors, when i didn't before.

Whats the problem?

Thanks.

Have you tried disabling your firewall for a few seconds, trying the test and seeing the results?

Least that way you can see whether its your modem blocking it or firewall.

what type of modem is it... i wouldnt think the modem would have any sort of firewall it it at all...

if its directly connected then its probably just the software firewall not liking a network process.

You cant configure port forwarding on a modem it simply acts as a pass through device to any single device connected to it.

If you check you IP on your pc it will most likely have a public IP address

Youll need to unblock the Bit Torrent ports configured in UTorrent to be allowed through your software firewall,

Well at the moment i have told the firewall to let utorrent use absolutely everything but it still isn't working.
