Hi all,

Looking at getting a memory stick and putting a load of portable apps on there to minimise what I have installed on my machine, and also to take around.

What are your favourite portable apps?

It's a, god I can't remember the technical term for it lol, but e.g. it allows me to access files stored at a university file server which is not normally open to the public (from home).

I also carry open Office Portable around with me. I can't stand the new version of MS' Office.

Pretty much all my apps are portable these days... If they aren't they can often be made portable fairly easily. :)

I've blurred the potentially naughty ones... :o

I keep meaning to get some portable apps sorted for my usb pendrive but I never get around to it. Don't think I'd actually need that many apart from perhaps Opera or Firefox so I can have my bookmarks etc. :)

Im so tempted to buy a 16gb stick... but dunno what to fill it with lol. Anyone got any good ideas which exclude prawn?

Oh and can you partition a usb key?

Yep, it is just like a HD in that respect.

Fill it with apps, and you can even boot from it if you know what you are doing...

I have a 4gb and an 8gb stick with Portable apps on them.

Very handy, don't forget to put Foobar and VLC on as well. :)

Ok gone for a 16gb stick. Just sorting out which apps to put on it. So far have

Office 2007
Photoshop CS3
AdAware
Ashampoo Burning Studio
CCleaner
ClamWin
ConvertXtoDVD
DVDFab
Firefox
FlashFXP
Gaim
Newsleecher
Notepad++
Total Commander
Total Uninstall
UltraISO
Unlocker
VLC
WinRAR

What else should I get?
