Portable FLAC player options

Hi all, does anyone have any suggestions, preferably first hand, for playing FLACs whilst out walking/riding the bus?

The mp3s on my ipod nano just don't cut it anymore, willing to splurge and I'll need some phones as well - probably in ear.

Any thoughts?

I use a FiiO X1 which can be had for £80 off the rain forest but there are X3 ii, X5 ii and X7 variants if you need more features or just want to spend more money.

If you didn't mind second hand, someone has a Sony 128gig high res player in the MM for sale.
Almost bought it myself, but holding back (must stop spending)

Going to be trying a LG G5 with the HiFi plus module in the car in a couple of weeks. Not as a phone, purely as an audio player.

Promises to be an interesting experiment.

LG V20 and the HTC 10 seem to be the ones to beat phone wise.

Rockbox installed on my old iPod Photo 40GB model does the job for me. I pair it with a Fiio E7 headphone amp/dac to utilise the line out capability from the ipod.
