Greetings,

I have £1200 to build a new computer. For Gaming on high settings- SC2, CS:GO, Crysis and loads others. Video editing, photo editing, HD movies. Basically long days of use, and i'd like it to be as quiet as possible please.

These are the things I would like to have, or somewhere around them. I'm only 100% set on the case.

-MSI HD 7970 Lightning BOOSTED Edition 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
-Samsung 256GB SSD 840 PRO SATA 6Gb/s Basic (For OS + Games)
-2TB Harddrive
-BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Cube Case - Arctic White
-16Gb Ram 1600Mhz.

So it's going to be pretty fast, but I would reduce the power slightly if that meant a quieter and cooler PC. I just want to see if you can help me find a nice balance.

Thankyou for any help.

Guess you'd be looking at an Intel system of sorts, either a 3570k or a 3770k paired with a decent mITX motherboard.

I use the ASRock Z77E-ITX board and currently have my 3770k overclocked to 4.7GHz which is nice although the socket positioning is a bit off so that might be off the cards for yourself depending on what cooler you choose.

I hear nothing but good things about the Asus board - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-530-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2071

That combined with the above CPU should provide you with a very fast and small system.

Then it's just deciding on PSU and your sorted :)

Looks good to me would get the 3770k myself if you can afford it as it will outlast the I5 by a good margin.

Personally i would get a £50 cheaper 7970 and OC it myself though.
