Portable/light weight gaming laptop?

Hi, this is my first post here. I have been reading the forums for a while and am now in need of some advice. I have a maximum budget of £1500 and am looking for a light(around 2.5kg or less) and portable laptop that is/will be able to play the latest games (Age of Conan, RtCW2) on reasonable settings. The machine would also be used by my girlfriend for her schoolwork, but nothing else too heavy. I have never had a laptop before and am completely clueless as to what I can get and also curious as to which makes and models are most regarded around this value. Would also like it to be upgradeable, is this possible?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I asked a similar question a week or so ago and got a mixed response.

Sadly, small and powerful don't always go together in a full sized PC, and it's no different on the laptop side either.

From what I can see, the most powerful you're going to get at that weight is probably something like a Dell XPS M1330, with upto 4GB DDR2 and an 8400M GS chip with 128MB GDDR3.

From searching i've heard talk about a 14" laptop that sports an (impressive) 8600M GT, but I can't find it anywhere at all. Plus it's probably going to be heavy and/or hot running.

If you're willing to go a bit heavier (and bigger) then the 15" laptop range is where the first good gaming laptops lie. An example being Overclockers' own custom built Ultima Mobile - the 9800M GTS it has is a very fast chip.

I agree with Tute, basically if you want to be able to play AoC and RTCW2 then Ultima Mobile in the range of £1050-1400 depending on what you upgrade on the list.
