portable MSN substitute

Hi all,

We can't update MSN at work due to admin rights, despite the fact that we need it for communication over all our sites in the UK and abroad. As we can't update it we can't use it.

Anyone suggest a substitute until IT get up here to do it that we can run from our desktop without having to install?

Pidgin has a portable build, very minimal etc but works a treat. Only thing it won't do is web cams etc but as I never use them anyway, never had an issue with it.

Another vote for Pidgin here.

Light, cross platform and supports multiple protocols (not that you need that last part it would seem, but handy for me)
