Portal question

Hi there,

Sorry if this is a noob question, but is the version of Portal that is going to be released this Friday just a stand alone version of portal that was included in the orange box?

I really liked Portal and hoped this was a new release but from what I can tell it is not, looks to me like the same verison. Anyone know for sure?

Thought so. Couldn't link to where I had seen it as they also sell computer parts and are therefore a competitor.

I think it's only a stand alone without any new content.

Isn't it just the retail box of Portal. ie before you could only buy portal retail with the orange box whereas you can now get it (and episode 2) in standalone versions.

Would be nice to get some official extra content soon, the game was good, but didn't last to long, which was a shame tbqh.

Portal has been available for £10 for some time on Steam i thought.

Not through retail stores though. I think they're doing the same thing with TF2 as well.

Surely anyone even remotely interested in valve games will already have Portal either via the orange box or steam, seems a bit crazy to release a retail box version after this length of time. That is what threw me, was thinking no way will this be the same Portal as the orange box after this length of time....and I was wrong.....

Guess they have done their research and think it will sell to the casual gamers who tend to shop in retail stores.
