Finally bought portal and I've spent all evening after work playing it.

Just finished playing through it, taken me all night but I did the whole lot :D :D :D

Gotta say it's an absolutely dead chuffed with it, haven't played such an enjoyable game in such a very... very long time :D

The ending theme tune is so cool too :D :cool:

Bit of a random thread I know, but I thought I'd share it with you and suggest anyone that hasn't played it to grab it now... if you do have it, this is a perfect excuse to go play it again! :cool:
 
Yeah it's a great little game, not really any criticism you can level at it. Portal prelude is well worth a play as well.
 
I also only just got round to playing this game at the weekend, and like you completed it in one sitting. It's one of those games which you don't need any preamble story setting explaining why you are there in that "cell" to begin with, the story drops very subtle hints about the mental state of the AI as you go, and ends up being a kind of 2001 A Space Odyssey homage, with perfectly pitched spots of humour along the way. Absolutely brilliant game. I am hoping that the location of the complex is visited in HL ep3 or 4, since Apeture Science is mentioned in Ep 2.
 
Awesome game, one of the few I've actually completed. It kept me interested all the way through. I always felts that the portal gun would be a nice addition to HL2's weapon arsenal.
 
I was late playing it too. Luckily I knew nothing about the game so it came as a very pleasant surprise when I finally got around to playing and finishing in one sitting. Great little game and a fantastic ending.

Exactly the same.

I'd managed to avoid everything about Portal - obviously you hear things about Cake but I'd kept my ears and eyes closed on everything else :)

It's been one of those must plays for me for a long, long time so I've avoided all media/forums/discussions about it like the plague :p
 
I didn't know much about it until Steam had their crazy Orange box sale the other week. Was very pleased with it :)

Hi! Welcome to two years ago :D

Sorry had to say it! But yeah, it was a pretty outstanding game. I watched the MRS play it mostly, as puzzley games aren't my thing, but I still enjoyed it and it is legendary!

Did it not win one of the best games of all time award? Also I got a feeling it came out of a Zero Punctuation review with its nuts pretty much intact, which is unheard of!
