Portfolio Design Critique

I'm creating a design to put my portfolio in. I wanted to keep it simple and clean, easy to read and understand. I've created a basic design, wondered what your thoughts and opinions are?

Don't worry too much about the text, it's just a first draft. I want people/companies to get a feel for my personality from what I write.

Hi fab, for me its a little too plain.

The text also could be doing with a grid layout as currently it feels very text heavy on the left side and unbalanced by that.

Maybe look at 960gs?

I can understand keeping it simple, I prefer simple clean designs also. Maybe use some simple textures/noise to bring it out.
