Porting number from Orange to Orange?

My 12 month sim only plan's just expired, and I'd like to stay on the Orange network, but I want to start another 12 month contract so I can get my £80 Quidco.

Can I port my number from Orange back to Orange?

If not, could I port it to say T-Mobile sim only on a 30 day contract, then port it back to Orange in a month's time? :confused:

That was my idea, but porting to T-Mobile instead of GiffGaff, as O2's 3G coverage in my area is none existent, couldn't put up with that for a month!

PS, anyone know how to 'persuade' Orange to give you more than 500mb of internet without having to pay extortionate amounts? Just spoken to the retentions department and the best they could do was 500mb plus unlimited Wi-Fi (useless to me as there are no hotspots nearby!), they wouldn't budge on the data unless I paid £30+ a month.
 
I managed to get 1.5gb of data from retentions, not sure what I said as I was off on a rant at the time!
I was telling them I was moving to giffgaff because I didn't need a new handset and it was cheaper, so orange gave me a cracking new contract, then my girlfriend tried the same and got told to leave!

I'll no doubt be getting asked to leave then, lol! ;)
 
You can port the number to PAYG and then port it back to PAYM. You'll need to finish the contract to do it (eg terminate) but it will work fine, i've done this with people for years.
 
Just got off the phone to retentions, they've given me an extra 500mb data and 5gb wi-fi for the same price as I was already paying, that'll do me. :)
