I've just taken up a Sim only contract with 3. Got the text to say that the transfer is done. Put the Sim into my phone and my signal is poor. I've only got a few bars and no 4G at home.

I'm going to give it a few days but i'm already thinking of cancelling within my cooling off period.

What happens to my number if i do that? If i cancelled my contract would it just transfer onto a PAYG sim and i could then port the number to another sim when i take it out?

I think you obtain the agreement of Three and then simply port out to a provider of your choice. Then, you wait with your fingers crossed and hope that Three don't 'accidentally' send you a bill for all 12 months.

Haha close!

Rang Three, they eventually accepted my complaint and have already disconnected me. No idea when or even if i'll get a PAC code!

Glad i have my work phone!

If they have disconnected you/cancelled the contract already, then it is not possible to get a PAC. The number needs to be active to be able to port it.

Oh balls. Well this should be interesting to try and resolve with Threes useless customer service!

Had that number for years!
