Nice, I like it!
Two things bothering me :
I would perhaps crop a little from the left. You have this tight cropping thing going on across the top & bottom, which is great, but it feels odd with so much space to the left.
Also, the background to the right is distracting.

i did a similar thing to ghandi, cant direct paste as that pesky admin has the gallery hotlink protected to stop bandwidth thieves(slaps self)

not made it as bright as ghandis though, like the catchlight he added,

i cropped it, used the lasso tool to get draw round the eye, made a new layer and used shadow/highlight tool to make it brighter, and sharpened it, opacity of the layer is around 50%, blended the edges of the join.
New layer, added a mask, used the radial fill tool on that layer and added a gauson blur (9%) to the layer, just to soften around the face and highlight the eye further. Pretty eyes, got to make the most of them. Perhaps a reflector to get a bit more light into the eye area?

Itb looks good with a black border around it, blacka nd white photos ually do but no extra white lines that take away the eyes from the person in the border though :p

the 50mm is nice for portraits as you have shown!
