Hi,

I've had a couple of sessions in studio recently and have the following question for anyone who's had any experience.

Some, well most everyone, has asked for prints on a 5:4 ratio which is a pain because as I like to shoot quite close in using a 3:2 so I'm wondering if I should be shooting at a different ratio for these kind of sessions or pulling back the distance to the subject.

I'm not even sure if my 70d has this ratio. I wondered if anyone half any thoughts about this?

Thanks

is it worth changing the aspect ratio for future sessions, say to 4:3 or leave the camera at 3:2 and think about maybe giving the frame some breathing space for possible cropping later. I was just wondering any one would ever think about changing their in camera ratios?

It's probably a throwback to the older professional standards with medium and large formats which are either 4:3 or 5:4. Print sizes then followed suit with 10x8 and 20x16 formats being considered standard.

Always give breathing room for some cropping later on.

This is the case, people wanting 10x8's mainly because they are buying off the shelf frames.

Thanks all for the advice.
