Ports dont open

Hey im trying to open ports on my netgear dgn2200v3 router for my ps4 to play destiny as for some reason im getting a yellow/red bar constantly even though my nat type is type 2 and i get no issues with other games.

Anyway, ive set up a static ip on my PS4, and forwarded the ports to that.. yet they dont open? ive checked if there open on multiple checkers and they all say there not open, also same problems on destiny.

Anyone have any ideas why? its driving me insane such a stupid problem i cant sort.

Your home user router doesn't really have a concept of open or closed ports, it uses NAT to deal with exposing internal services to the wider Internet, but this is inbound traffic only. Nothing outbound is blocked, and NAT is stateful so any packets related to an outbound connection can always get back in.

You should be able to get a decent connection for your PS4 just by ensuring UPnP is turned on. If this doesn't work then as a last resort you can try setting your PS4 internal IP address as the DMZ address on the router.

This is the thing, my ps4 nat type is type 2 so should be fine and destiny is the only game i get this problem with. Ive heared the servers are p2p, would that be the reason why as i only have 350kb/s upload speed?
