ports open maybe ???

ive got 4 machines currently folding all on a draytek vigor v2800g and i was wondering do i need to open any ports at all for them to forward as ive seen no improvement on my score or am i being a n00b =S :p ???


3 are pent 3 with 256 or 512 ram
1 is an amd am2 semp ron with 1 gig =s any difference :S?


any help would be gold !!!! there running the graphical version aswell ....... of folding at home .....

Although these days those p3's will take a LONG time to finish WU's, they may be better used on a different project?

Unless the clients say they are failing to recieve/send work i would think your port settings are fine, its just the fact those pc's will take so long to finish WU's unfortunately
 
Yeah you are probably looking at a week+ to finish a WU for those! You shouldn't miss the deadline for them as its set to about a month as long as they are on all the time. But if they are only running when the screensaver is on you might! :eek:

My P4 3.0Ghz at work (only running a single client) takes 2 days to do a 206point 3403 Gromacs! I'd say a P3 would take at least a week to do one. Maybe the Sempron will done one every 3 days or so if its on 24/7 otherwise double that.
 
thats whts botherin me that it only says 1 active cpu i redid them and im on console version only now....and set machine codes to them ..... am gonna add another pent 3 machine its just what i have around the room lol at work ..... there just machines with that running at 100%
 
console version will be more productive, if these are all networked, (they must be lol) then you could use the fahmon program to monitor them all from your main machine, then you can see how fast (or slow lol) they are going and put your mind at rest that they are actually doing something! :p

AWSOME PROG !!!!!! just got everything setup now ive got some old celerons in the back dont think theres any point in them ahwell heeres a photo of it =D

just set them all up this morning i redid the console version using the ocuk guide 2 of them are starting of again 1 is starting from scratch and the other i left using the display version on pc2,3,4 are the pent 3's pc 1 is the am2 sempron trying my hardest to install folding on the ubunntu setup ive got but dosent want to work =S think ill read a guide ......
